Day Date

Last weekend, Shawn and I decided it was time to go out and see some of what the Nashville area has to offer us. It was time to step away from the music and hype and step back into history to learn. We went to the Lotz House in Franklin, TN.

The Lotz House was a part of one of the bloodiest battles of the American Civil War. The German immigrant family that lived there were made to flee when the battle started around their home. While they were gone, their house was brutalized by bullets and cannon fire, the original floors are dented from canon balls, and certain parts of the floors are darkly stained from all of the soldier's blood. In one of my pictures, you can see the red flag hanging over the front door, this is to symbolize that the house was once used as a hospital.

The ladies that did the tour were so sweet and full of southern charm. They shared their love of history and their town, it was absolutely wonderful to gain some of their knowledge.

It was very surreal to get to visit a spot with so much history. The home also has one of the best antique collections in the southeast. If you want to learn more about the house, check it out here

Vintage Shoe Love

I ADORE vintage shoes. Although, unfortunately, I have too big of feet to fit in most vintage shoes I find....but I love to look at them!

The shoes of the 1940s really catch my eye. Something about that era just screams I'm feminine but I'm still powerful! But since my feet don't fit I will just sit back and dream about the awesome outfits you can put together with the right pair of sexy pumps!

Mix and match them with some cute little frocks from the same era and you've got a hot outfit for date night. Yes please!

What girl doesn't drool over Anthropologie dresses??

So to quote a co worker today... "Why is it that you girls are always shopping at work? Aren't there better things to look at online?" Answer: no, probably not.

Here are the best finds from Anthro today.
