When the band comes to town

First off if you haven't heard of them, make sure you check out the band Frontier Ruckus.

They are a group of guys I went to school with in Michigan, Brian their bassist used to be a part of our regular jam sessions in the dorms my sophomore year of school. We'd all sit around with different instruments and play different folk tunes, sitting around drinking PBR. Let me tell you it was hipster paradise.
Anyway, the band is doing really well these days, not just playing in the co-op houses around campus and they came to play at Music City Roots again. So of course, we had to go check it out.

If you ever get to check it out, Music City Roots is a pretty cool show. They showcase upcoming as well as already established Americana and Folk musicians from all over the US. It takes place at the Loveless Cafe, so before you see the show, you can eat some of the most delicious southern food.

New girl crush: Lera Lynn
After the show, the boys got their first experience of a Nashville Honky-Tonk at Robert's. It is always a fun night when you end it in a honky-tonk.

What I've Been Up To

So as you can probably see, I've taken quite the break from blogging and selling on Etsy. Between Shawn graduating from Michigan State, helping my dad with his new business, going on a 35 day European backpacking trip, moving back to Nashville and being in a lovely Texas wedding, I have had a lot on my plate.

On to the exciting stuff: Euro trip.
Shawn and I backpacked around through a chunk of western Europe. We started in Ireland then flew into Barcelona, Spain and took the magical Euro-rail trains through the rest of France, The Netherlands, Germany and Italy.

There were many crazy, wonderful times, like sharing hostels with those whom were all too comfortable with their intimate life, driving over 1000 miles of Ireland's coast in three days, learning to give up the comfort of make-up and sometime showering everyday (yuck!), biking up mountainsides, meeting new friends and seeing ones I hadn't seen in over 4 years. It was an amazing experience that I wouldn't trade.

Every time I've visited the European continent I leave inspired by what I've seen and the people that I have met.
